Though the Covid-19 precautions are denying the opportunity to meet physically on Sundays or in our small groups or our through community outreach we have expanded the ways in which we can meet together through simple technology. This page shows some of what we are doing.
Words of Encouragement
Abingdon Vineyard is part of Vineyard
Churches UK & Ireland, (VCUK&I) which in turn is part of a worldwide
movement. At this difficult time VCUK&I would like to encourage us
with the following words:- In
a time of such uncertainty, we must remember what is certain: that God is on the
throne, he is ultimately in control, and we can totally trust him through
this valley.
In a time of such fear and anxiety, we are
assured of the power of love over fear (1 John 4:18), and that the peace
which transcends understanding can overcome every anxiety (Philippians
4:6-7).
Let us be a non-anxious presence as we step into the opportunity to be salt and light in fresh
ways, bringing hope to those around us as we reach out with love.
And let us humble ourselves
and pray that God’s kingdom would come, his will would be done, and that he
would heal our land (1 Chronicles 7:14).
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He
cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
During the COVID-19 social distancing each Sunday morning
we are sending out a Sunday message via email and the Abingdon Vineyard
Facebook Community page.If you would like to watch a service on Sunday then we
can recommend Trent Vineyard Church who are livestreaming at trentv.org/stream on Sundays at 9.15am,
11.15am and 7pm.
Small groups are currently not able to meet in person but
we are successfully running Small Groups online using Zoom. If you would like
to join a Small Group then please contact the church through the contact page. Small Groups are a time for friendship, encouragement,
support and prayer, where individuals can
be fed spiritually, encouraged to grow in their relationship
with God and where necessary share needs for practical help.
Our primary way of communicating is by regular Church

Prayer is a powerful weapon in every situation. Throughout the New Testament at key times Jesus went away to pray and encouraged his disciples to also pray. Prayer is important and we encourage people to take every opportunity to engage in personal prayer as well as joining others in a prayer group. If you would like to join with a prayer group, possibly using social media or Zoom etc please contact the office.
The Alpha course is a relaxed ten-week course which seeks
to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of films and
discussions. If you are interested in attending an Alpha course contact
the church through the contact page to register your interest. We will then
contact you when we start our next course. During the COVID-19 social
distancing we will be running the Alpha course online.
